When they tighten, it makes your airways narrow. Air cannot flow freely through constricted airways.<\/li>\n<li class=\"mb-rem12px pl-rem12px text-gray-800 text-rem19px leading-rem34px\"><strong>Inflammation:\u00a0<\/strong>The lining of your airways becomes swollen. Swollen airways don\u2019t let as much air in or out of your lungs.<\/li>\n<li class=\"mb-rem12px pl-rem12px text-gray-800 text-rem19px leading-rem34px\"><strong>Mucus production:<\/strong>\u00a0During the attack, your body creates more mucus.
